When tragedy happens, how to help children understand
Today is February 15th, 2023. As of today, there have been a total of 71 mass shootings this year-to-date. Put another way, there have been more mass shootings than days in 2023.
Michigan State University is my home. I’m completely devastated to hear of this terrible news. We must do something. Children and educators and our surrounding communities should feel safe at school. And they don’t—something needs to change. I don’t have an answer to satisfy both sides. But I’m also sick of satisfying both political sides. To me this isn’t political, it’s ensuring safety for innocent civilians. #SpartanStrong
